What is Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?

Modified on Thu, 30 May at 11:12 AM

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) refers to learning and education activities that would help certified HR professionals to develop and maintain competencies and HR knowledge that enable them to be effective in their HR role.

IHRP-certified professionals are strongly encouraged to continue updating and upskilling themselves during their 3-year certification duration. For IHRP-CPs and IHRP-SPs, there is a 45-hour CPD requirement that needs to be fulfilled in order for them to meet the IHRP recertification eligibility criteria.

CPD hours can be earned through:

  • continued learning through IHRP events, training courses, workshops, etc.
  • volunteer opportunities with IHRP
